Ski the world-class slopes of Telluride

Whether you are a first-time skier or an authority on this exciting sport, the Telluride Ski Resort, only one hour from the Box Canyon Lodge, has everything -- from gentle, undulating trails and steep slopes to high-adventure moguls and freestyle terrain.

Guests of the Box Canyon Lodge can ski the world-class slopes of Telluride for 45% off the normal lift ticket rates throughout the winter and return at the end of each day to a relaxing soak in the 108-degree mineral hot springs spas.

Ski the extreme powder and terrain of Silverton Mountain

Silverton Mountain is a new advanced, guided ski and snowboard facility for the hard-core enthusiast. The base elevation is 10,400 feet and the chairlift peaks at 12,300 feet.

Skiers are guided in groups of eight or less, skiing four to five runs a day, amounting to 8,000 to 12,000 vertical feet of wild rides. By the winter of 2005/2006, they plan to have unguided skiing as well.

A relaxing soak in the 108-degree hot springs spas at the Box Canyon Lodge, after a day at Silverton Mountain, is a must!

Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

The mountains surrounding Ouray offer some spectacular areas for either cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. No matter what your ability, there are both groomed and un-groomed trails of all difficulty levels.

Your aching muscles will thank you as you slide down into the108-degree mineral hot springs spas when you return to the Box Canyon Lodge at the end of the day.

Backcountry Skiing

Backcountry skiing blends the excitement of downhill skiing with the physical challenges and rewards of backcountry winter travel. The Red Mountain Pass area, in particular, hosts an abundance of different tours for a variety of different skiing abilities.
