It doesn't take long for a first-time visitor to find the "magic" here in the mountains of Southwestern Colorado. I found that "magic" over 25 years ago and now make my home in Ouray.

The best time to take photographs here in the mountains is the first two hours of daylight and the last two hours of the day before sunset. This type of sunlight helps to create good contrast and a beautiful color of light.

If you want to photograph wildlife, they are most active in the early morning and late afternoon.

The film of choice for great color prints is either Fuji or Kodak. But, if you want to take photographs using slide film, then I have found Fuji film to be the best.

To see my photographic work, visit any town in Southwestern Colorado and ask a shop owner to see postcards, calendars, note cards by photographer Arthur Fox or the products by Rocky Mountain Scenics. You can also visit my website at www.rockymountainscenics.com or email me at rmts1@mindspring.com.
