Free Artist Demos Offered at Ridgway Rendezvous on August 11 & 12
This weekend, August 11 & 12, Ridgway Rendezvous is offering free artist demonstrations throughout the festival, in a number of unique mediums.
On Saturday August 11, three separate demos will begin at 10 am; Jewelry with Katharine Walker, Watercolors with Lauretta Casler and Oil and Wax with Paula Marlatt. At 12 pm, Lucy Boody will demonstrate Fiber Art, Romagene Personne will demo Oil Painting and Lisa Ellison will showcase Plein Air Painting. Following at 2 pm, Jeff Skoloda will present Metal Art, Denice Langley will demo Leather Art and at 2 and 4 pm, Carol Rasmussen will offer Alcohol Inks.
On Sunday, the demos will start at 12 pm with Alice Billings showing Acrylic Horse Paintings, CArmella Wilson will demonstrate Pastels and Lucy Boody will return for another Fiber Art demo. At 2 pm, Diane Quarles will offer Glass Art and Paula Marlatt will again offer Oil and Wax. The day will clsoe out with a Candy demo from Mathew Gallegos of Nana K’s Kandies.
Live music and entertainment will be on the stage throughout the day, and between sets Red Mountain Radio will offer a great selection of music streamed live from the park. There will also be a beer,wine, margarita and bloody Mary tent by the stage and numerous food vendors, as well as the 150 artistic vendors from across the country.
This annual show is located at the junction of Highways 550 and 62 in Southwest Colorado, Gateway to the beautiful San Juan Mountains. The show runs on Saturday from 9 am until 5 pm and on Sunday from 10 am until 5 pm. Free festival parking and shuttle will be offered at Ouray County 4-H Events Center. Admission to the Ridgway Rendezvous on Saturdayand Sunday is FREE, so make plans to bring your whole family and a car load of friends for a fun weekend in Ridgway Colorado!
