The Fourth of July in Ouray is always a grand celebration. From parades and water fights, to barbecues and free concerts in the ark, there are few places that take having fun so seriously.
The weather was on our side again this year, so we expect yet another epic firework display. As the Volunteer Fire Department fires illuminations into the sky above town, there are few places you will see such an awesome show!
This year, start celebrating early, as the Volunteer Fire Department hosts a live concert in Fellin Park on Monday, July third, but be sure to get plenty of rest for the festivities all day July Fourth!
Ouray Volunteer Fire Department Concert with Tight Thump out of Grand Junction!
6:00 PM-11:00 PM Ouray Fellin Park (by the Hot Springs Pool) Family and pet friendly concert in the park benefitting the Ouray Volunteer Fire Department. $5 entry. Beer, wine, and mixed drinks available for purchase.
Ouray Mountain Rescue Team Pancake Breakfast – 6:30 AM Ouray Community Center
8:00 AM – Annual OURAYCE-10K race for KURA 98.9 – Registration from 7:00 AM-8:00 AM or online at raceit.com. Race begins at 8:00 AM at City Hall on 6 th Avenue.
10:00 AM Main Street – Ouray Fourth of July Main Street Parade
For parade participants, line up along 4th Street begins at 9:00AM. (This year’s parade will have heavy doses of water. In an effort to help those who wish to stay dry, the East side of Main Street (Duckett’s, Ouray Brewery, Maggie’s Kitchen, ect.) will be dry.
11:00 AM Ouray Fellin Park – Free Kids Games in Fellin Park with the Ouray Volunteer Fire Department
11:00 AM 421 Main Street – Elks Club Rummage Sale, Barbeque & Independence Day Karaoke
11:00 AM 420 6 th Avenue – 1950’s Themed Lemonade and Lawn Games with the Ouray County Historical Society
2:00 PM –Water Fights Intersection of Main and 6 th Avenue.
Dusk (approximately 8:30 PM) – Jeep “Glow” Parade. Line up at the Switzerland of America Overlook at 8:30 PM. Decorate your Jeep with twinkle lights and glow sticks (some packets available for a donation to the Ouray Volunteer Fire Department). Parade starts down the hill and through Ouray at dusk. Prize for the best decorated Jeep!
Ouray Fourth of July Fireworks and laser show display, provided by the Ouray Volunteer Fire – Department, the City of Ouray, the Ouray Jeep Raffle, and the Mountain Air Music Series. – Begins at dark.
