For Immediate Release:

Ouray, CO.  May 8, 2017.  Mountain Air Music, Inc. is pleased to announce the schedule for the June 2017 Ouray Mountain Air Music concert series  our sixth year of free outdoor concerts in Ouray’s spectacular Fellin Park. The series is presented by the Ouray Hot Springs Pool, which will be celebrating both its 90th anniversary and the completion of its full renovation this summer.

This year’s series features nationally-recognized musicians from:  Detroit, Nashville, San Francisco, Kansas City, MO and up and coming bands from Colorado. Each week features a different genre of music, including country-flavored rock, alternative indie, surf disco, Latin beats, blues and funky electronica, all chosen to surprise and delight. The bands are carefully selected to appeal to all ages and to get the crowds dancing and enjoying Ouray’s gorgeous summer evenings.

The 2017 Mountain Air Music lineup is as follows:

New this year, Mountain Air Music, Inc. is excited to unveil a new professional, portable stage system that will improve the views of the bands, lighting and sound systems. The stage is all aluminum and features a hydraulic system setup, rainproof siding, and plenty of room for the musicians.

As in prior years, the concerts are free and are family and pet friendly.  Each week a local nonprofit organization will benefit from beer, wine and spirit sales; please support their efforts. Outside alcohol may not be brought into the park.  Additional nonprofit groups will be fundraising by selling food and running entertainment for the kids.  A wide selection of local food, beverages and treats will be available for purchase each night.

If you need more live music when the main show ends, the opening bands will perform again at O’Brien’s Pub and Grill from 9:30–11 pm.   Don’t miss this opportunity to get up close and personal with the talented openers each week. This year’s openers are all Colorado bands; it will be exciting to explore the great new music our state has to offer. Keep your eyes on these bands as they continue to grow and make us proud!

In an effort to keep our concert attendees safe and mitigate parking issues, Mountain Air Music is pleased to support a new shuttle service providing rides between Ridgway and Ouray for the concerts. Western Slope Rides will offer round-trip rides from Log Hill Mesa and Hartwell Park in downtown Ridgway to Ouray.  Rides will cost $20 from Log Hill Mesa and $15 from Hartwell Park. Service begins at 4 pm and will leave Ouray for the final trip to Ridgway at 11:30 pm from O’Brien’s Pub so riders can attend the after-show events.  When the concerts move to Ridgway in July, the shuttle services will be available from Ouray to Ridgway for $15 round trip. More details and reservations are available by contacting Western Slope Rides at 970-626-5121.

Mountain Air Music is also proud to announce and support the Ouray Volunteer Fire Department’s annual July 3rd fundraising concert in Fellin Park. Join them in the park from 6-11 pm, with local favorites Bad Friend on stage from 8-10 pm.  Entrance is $5, with food and beverages available for purchase.  All proceeds from this event will support the Ouray Volunteer Fire Department programs and projects.

The annual Ouray Mountain Air Music Series depends on generous local sponsors to make the concerts a success.  We’d like to extend a cheer of gratitude to our major sponsors who support the series and believe in bringing quality live music to Ouray.
