rrartThe Ridgway Rendesvous is one of the largest juried art shows in Colorado, and has consistently attracted thousands of visitors from all around the country, being hailed by many as one of the best shows of the year.

Taking place in Hartwell Park in Ridgway, this two day event is complimented by the backdrop of the San Juan Mountains. As shoppers peruse the wide variety of arts and crafts, it almost seems as if two days might not be enough time to see all there is to offer!

Hosted and sponsored by Weehawken Creative Arts, Kentee Pasek, the Creative Director of the Event, outdoes herself every year, by bringing in some of the most spectacular artisitic talents in Colorado to one place.

rr2014Weehawken Creative Arts is a non profit organisation dedicated to providing year-round arts and cultural education to Ouray County. From pottery classes and poetry readings, dances and plays to culinary arts, Weehawken offers both locals and visitors to Ouray and Ridgway an exciting range of creative experiences. 

Ridgway Rendesvous Application Categories include:

ridgway_rendesvous_flyerCeramics: Original clay and porcelain work OTHER THAN jewelry will be accepted in this category.

Drawing & Graphics: Works created using a dry media (chalk, charcoal, pencil, etc.) or a fluid medium of inks and washes applied by pen or brush.

Fiber: Includes basketry, embroidery, leatherwork, weaving, tapestry and papermaking.

Glass: All handmade glass EXCLUDING JEWELRY and mass produced items.

Jewelry: All jewelry, regardless of clay, metal, paper, plastic, glass or fiber components, must be entered in this category. No commercial casts, molds or mass produced items will be considered.

rracfMetal: Includes all non-sculptural, NON-JEWELRY works crafted from metal.

Mixed Media: Both 2 and 3-dimensional works that incorporate more than one type of physical material.

rrartPhotography: Photographic prints made from the artist’s original image.

Sculpture: Three dimensional original sculptures done in any medium.

Wearable Art: No mass produced items will be accepted, regardless of embellishments. Hand made hats, belts, clothing of any kind should apply in this category.

rrtrainWood: Original works in wood that are hand-tooled, machine-worked, turned or carved.

Bath Products Including Candles:  Must be hand-made and of high quality.

Gourmet:  Homemade, pre-packed food items intended for home consumption off-site and/or gift giving.

Food/Concessions:  Food intended for consumption at the event as an event snack and/or meal.

All of the exhibitors are judged based upon original works by the selected jury. Once judging has been completed, all of the work is available for sale to the attending public.
weehawkenlogo-8The 31st Annual Ridgway Rendesvous Arts and Crafts Festival is two days of fun and entertainment, as patrons find gifts for both themselves and those special hard to shop for people. It is impossible not to find something for even the most difficult person on your Christmas list!

The Artisits Schedule is as follows:

Friday Aug 7 Set up & Check in from Noon—6 pm

Saturday, Aug 8 Set up & Check in from 6 am—9 am

Saturday, Aug 8 Show is Open to the Public 9am—5 pm

Sunday, Aug 9 Show is Open to the Public 10 am -5 pm

Sunday, Aug 9 Take Down from 5 pm—8pm

DEMONSTRATIONS AND CONTESTS: Artists are encouraged to demonstrate their skills and a trophy is awarded for the best demonstrations.  Trophies & awards for the best booths in each category will also be awarded.  There will be an award ceremony and artist reception for participating artists on Saturday at 5 pm at the music stage
