Join us at the 9th annual Wine, Chocolate and Cheese Festival December 9, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Ouray Community Center. The festival features wines from Colorado as well as local cheese, chocolate and arts & crafts in a party atmosphere.
“I’ve been attending this event since 2012,” said Dean Sagner, owner of Four Leaves Winery in Durango. “It’s a great way for my winery to get a little exposure north of the San Juans and a great opportunity for me to spend time in Ouray—one of my favorite places.”
The event features wineries from all over the Western Slope as well as other vendors selling Colorado cheeses and chocolates. Many locals attend the event to mingle with friends in the community and to get a bit of holiday shopping done.
This year’s event features the band Take Five, who will play pop, swing, and rock-and-roll favorites for attendees. Come and listen to 50s music, sample delicious local wine, chocolate and cheese and complete your holiday shopping at the same time. All vendors will have Colorado products available for sale. Stock up for your holiday parties and hostess gifts.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at coloradowinefest.org. Each year, festival proceeds benefit a different local nonprofit organization. This year’s beneficiary is the Fortuna Tierra Club, which funds post-secondary school scholarships for area high school students.
The Ouray Community Center is located at 320 Sixth Avenue, Ouray 81427. Leather jackets, poodle skirts and saddle shoes are encouraged!
An optional five-course dinner with wine pairings from Garrett Estate Cellars is Friday, December 8, at the Secret Garden. Secret Garden is on 101 6th Ave in Ouray. Cost is $60 for the dinner only or $75 to included entry to the festival Saturday.
Be sure to get your tickets now, and come celebrate what makes Southwest Colorado such an amazing place!
